Introduction to Bocking
From Bockipedia
Bocking is a relativly new sporting activity introduced in the late 1990s by Alexander Böeck in Germany. His patents for jumping-stilts were filed in 1999 before being issued in 2003 in Europe and 2004 in the USA.
The actual name of the sport, "bocking" or "Powerbocking" was suggested by spring stilts enthusiast Bill Cicio as a tribute to the German inventor. The term was immediately adapted by the spring stilt community and it has helped solidify worldwide recognition that Alexander Böeck (pronounced "bock") is the inventor of the equipment -- even in countries that do not officially recognize his patent.
